Coeymans Volunteers on Facebook

Good evening. The following is information from the NYS Thruway Authority regarding work being done at Exit 22.

"On Monday, February 24, 2020, from 10:00PM to 5:00 AM on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, the Selkirk Interchange (Exit 22), will have intermittent traffic stops. These stops will only affect traffic entering and exiting the Thruway at the Selkirk Interchange (Exit 22) [Town of Bethlehem, Albany County]. During the traffic stops, motorists will be unable to enter or exit the Thruway system at the Selkirk Interchange (Exit 22). Each traffic stop is expected to last no longer than 20 minutes apiece. These traffic stops are necessary for installing an overhead Cashless Tolling gantry in the toll plaza.

Thruway Traffic Safety and State Police will be on scene coordinating the traffic stops with Cashless Tolling Contractors LLC.

This operation is weather dependent, with a backup date of the night of Tuesday, February 24 into the morning of Wednesday, February 25."

Thanks for the interaction with our post. While we can appreciate the spirited discourse, this was an informational post aimed at alerting anyone on the road at this hour of the night/morning of a possible inconvenience. Please keep it civil. Thanks, we appreciate your support. Stay safe and check those smoke detector batteries. 😁

Finally cashless tolling. 3years behind all the other states. Now give us an exit in coeymans.

I see the installing of these as putting people out of work, also if anyone remembers the thruway tolls were supposed to be removed 20+ years ago!! But the cash cow has grown to costly to remove.
